Surfing in Brazil

    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of surfing in Brazil, specifically south coast. Im planning on going to see some of the olympics in Rio in august and would like to get a few days of waves under my belt whilst there. I know its super crowded in the city beaches, but is there any surf camps for intermediates that one might recommend. They don't have to be located near cities, would almost prefer not!(im not a beginner, so dont want to be taken to a begineers orientated camp).

    thanks in advance

lots of the surf schools advertise along Copacabana and Ipanema boardwalk and they will also transport you to wherever the waves are working.

    Brazil is an Amazing country,
    Enjoy

Just a word of caution, while surfing in Brazil let the locals pick their waves.
It's not Lahinch or Sligo you're surfing.

    Localism is hardcore over there.

A bodyboarder I know had a rough time over there,he didn't really head out back as when he took more waves than the locals he got hassle,he took the middle waves or the shorebreaks.

    Just be careful
