Currently live in London and thinking about setting up a Sky subscription at home in Dublin and using the card over here so I can get RTE/TV3/TG4. I understand I'd lose Channel 5 if I did so (not really bothered), but ITV would be more of an issue. Can anyone confirm whether you can still add ITV1/ITV1 HD manually via the other channels list?

Yes u can add it to other channels but u cannot record it, u also get the Irish version of UTV now on ch116 and if u take the hd pack its available in hd...but currently not all itv programs are on it but in time more and more will as tv3 has the rights to some programming until the contracts expire.

You can also add your Ch5 to the other channels

However Irish subs are more expensive than the uk subs..

Thanks for the info - can you add ITV1 HD or just the SD version?

You wont be able to take the card from Dublin to London as it wont work in the box. You would need to take the box and the card but you run the risk of getting caught out as Sky usually require the box to be connected to either a landline or more recently a working broadband router.

They're not THAT strict on it. My box hasn't been connected to either for about 5 years.

This is surely against Sky's regulations. I know my conscience would not be clear if I did this.

We can't discuss circumventing regional restrictions here
