    Best method?

Get someone else to do it. :)

Yea give bolus to the cows in the crush using a head scoop like that one it the clip. Once you get a head scoop you wont regret it. No more trying to pull cows noses up off the ground.

I know another lad who does them in the locking barriers and it's definitely a 2 man job.

Pedigree are you using one of those anti backing things as well? Have to one man it and currently stick 6 in the crush at a time,

No we don't have the anti backing thing. I have the same semi automatic crush gate in the video. When i'm bolusing myself and my father are doing it together. We have a sliding bar to put in behind the first cow. We don't use the bar only if the next cow doesn't stick her head in the crush gate. Then we have to get the bucket of meal out to try and get her head into the gate. But its usually 1 in 12 cows that'll do that. So no I've no experience of the anti backing bar.

Upright holding the headscoop with Paddy looks like it's seen better days, he's a brave man taking on those sucklers by himself (while the boss films him!!)

I was expecting that mad red lim to bring the whole crush with her down the yard as paddy hung on for dear life. That man doesn't put much value on his arms/hands. I wouldn't like to see that cow at calving time.

Agree that clip could nearly go into the H&S section. At 2.10 all it needed was for her to give one puck and Padd'y loving days would be over for a while.

Best of luck attaching that with a suckler bailed up.

I like Kovu's idea the best so far.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
