British Airways to Australia

    Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of flying BA to Australia - aside from the fact that the flight is through Heathrow and there will be a few hours to pass there are there any other downsides?
I travelled last year and flew Emirates, 2 years ago I flew Etihad - great experience with both overall. Looking at flights for late Feb and there over €400 in the difference on flight prices. Will only be going for 7/10 days so dont want to arrive too shattered either.

    Any info/opinions welcome:)

Food might not be as snazzy as Emirates, but the seating will be a little wider most likely as they don't pack their cabins as tightly. Crew are generally fine, entertainment is acceptable..there are worse ways to get there.

Thanks BuffyBot. I just did a quick search on googleflights there and its coming up with similar price for Emirates so just have to firm up dates now and decide.

If flying from Dublin, then when booking, make sure that the flights from Dublin to London Heathrow and v.v. are BA operated (the flight number will be a three digit number starting with 8), rather than Aer Lingus operated.

That way you will arrive and depart from terminal 5 and will not have to switch terminals.
