I was hoping for a better 2016 but the lottery for 43 million euros was 'just' a few blocks away :(

Winning zip code was 6131 and mine is 6134 am, soo close but not close enough.

    Fecked about it

Did you win anything during nye?

LOL... It's based on zipcode. The complete zipcode will win, do you even know how it works?

    Close but no cigar.

Still fuming from the Millionaire Raffle, they make it sound so easy.

To be honest, I would be happy winning a 100€ at this stage. :pac:

Do you need a zip code to get into your pants?

If you can afford blocks and zip codes you don't need the lottery win.

I thought "zip code" was only used in US. And everywhere else is "post code".

Yes, in the Netherlands they refer to them as Postcodes. OP referring to Zip Codes makes me wonder.

You'd have a hard job playing the lotto with Irish 'blocks' and zipcodes

You'd end up with something like:

"Halfway down the road, near the big tree by Centra C99 P1FQ"

and except in Ireland where it's called "Eircode" for some reason ...

I've already seen a confusion about that where people have put in eircom account numbers and area codes!

Don't mean to burst your bubble but you weren't close. The tickets aren't sold in consecutive numbers, there's a range and the machine picks a number at random. So you were just as close as someone who had ticket number 300,000.

I was almost as close as the OP to winning it and I didn't even enter.

Not really, it is called "postcode straatprijs" which means that the street with postcode xxxx xx will win.

    Example.

My postcode in the Netherlands is 6134AM the main price was 6131BW I think, but everyone in 6131 did won the other 23 milion (which is a much greater area than just the street where 6131BW is in).

Here you can see how "close" it is: https://www.google.ie/maps/dir/''/6134+AM+Sittard,+Netherlands/@50.9997694,5.8548246,16z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x47c0c789c451da35:0x1300de5a708c2ca8!2m2!1d5.8616338!2d51.004768!1m5!1m1!1s0x47c0c7816a2036b3:0x77606205d2e86d17!2m2!1d5.8554934!2d50.9949501

It's still a randomly picked number from a set of numbers.

If I won even a tenner today, I'd be happy, i wouldn't refuse it.
