Bulbs - best type to get

Might seem like an odd question but I know nothing about the topic. We moved into our house five years ago and I bought a batch of Phillips Energy Saver bulbs.

They have now started blowing however and I'm wondering what I should be replacing them with as they go?

I prefer to just buy a large bulk of spares and keep them but should I be looking at getting LED lights now?

Any recommendations as to what provides the best bang for buck? Our house is quite dark so lighting at a good brightness is important.

I do like the Philips Tornado bulbs, very little warm up, compact and there's zero heat off them, quality of light good too.

Id put in Led, the cost of CFL these days is so close to LED, yet LED far superior, Id go for them... That said if the bulbs are barely ever used, incandescent can make sense. It depends on a few factors...

Mine were about €7/€8 in Woodies from memory.

They generally provide a higher quality, more natural light with superior colour rendering.
