    hi there

if bc is before Christ and ad is after death.

then what is the bit in between called. :the wonder years maybe:D

when ever you read any history they say it happened 3000 years ago or 1000bc.

surely you should allow for the age of Jesus .

at least this system allows for the whole Jesus thing to be a storey with no actual timeline to it

first time i've ever heard any reference to AD meaning after death...

AD stands for anno Domini - the year of our Lord ie. The year he was born. It doesn't stand for 'after death'.

    ok sorry
I stand corrected. I was always taught it was after death. no harm done

I suppose this explains why I don't believe. I must not have been paying enough attention to buy into the whole thing

In fairness, it's a reasonably logical conclusion!

The non religious version is 'ce' or 'bce' meaning (before) common era

Besides BC and AD have now been replaced by BCE (before common era, IIRC) and CE (common era)

Fact fans unite in not looking up how facty that particular 'fact' was

If you'd been paying attention, you definitely wouldn't have believed it ;)

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.
