It Will be an intriguing contest. The fear that klitschko team exibited in trying to make boxing ring over padded in favor of Klitschko and the fear Klitschko showed in the ring ? . Was there something wrong? Is Klitschko too old? Is fury too big and skilled with too much variety to his game? Is Fury mentally too strong for Klitschko? Did Fury even have to show his best?

I Think Fury has it again, especially in his home town

If Wladimir stops being fearful of getting knocked out, and is actually prepared to absorp a few punches to get his own off, i think he wins the rematch. Fury is more skillful than people give him credit for, but the problem is his punch resistance isn't all that great and he is not a big puncher. He has the ability to be ahead on points again, but if Wlad goes for it, i see him winning by ko.

It was bizarre watching it, the complete refusal to throw punches.

I don't agree with that his needs to take some punches to get his own off. That circumstance should only really happen when there's a big reach differential and a fighter needs to close the distance. I thought there was plenty of times that Wlad was within range in that fight, he just didn't let his hands go.

...but it seems he was afraid to throw, in case he missed or was tagged himself. how else can you explain his refusal to let his hands go, unless there was some injury that occurred during the fight, which he refuses to mention out of respect for Fury??

Fury has his number - Simple as that.

It's like throwing a rag doll around... Fury is too big for Klitschko, he can't penetrate his reach, and is fearful of walking onto a hydrogen bomb.... There is nothing he can bring to the table to change any of that..

There's no doubt Manny would have been onto him about not throwing punches, but as the above video proves, Vladimir still refused to do it - that's why Manny was still giving out before round 12. And that's not the only fight Manny was urging him to let his hands go, he often had to do it.

Vlad has a long history of over-caution, but because of his size and boxing ability and it has to be said lax refereeing it never came against him before. Fury took away the size advantage and was utterly unfazed by Vlad, which is something Vlad wasn't used to. When he really had to let his hands go he was so used to not doing it, he found it hard to move away from his over-cautious style, even though he must have known he was behind.

Fury is just all wrong for Wlad. He's too tall and very quick for someone his size. Wlad didn't know how to deal with him from the first bell.

The only way I can see him trouble Fury is if he fights like he did in the last round, but then again Fury was tired at that point.

I've heard the rematch will not be in the UK, big disadvantage for Fury. If Tyson turns up in good condition and in the right frame of mind then he wins easily imo but he's bipolar so you never know.

Don't see how you can say it is a big disadvantage to fight anywhere after he went in to Wlad's backyard and comprehensively beat him for the belts.

So you think it's an advantage for Tyson to be fighting in Klitschko' back yard?

Based on the Jennings and Fury fight I think Klitschkos timing is gone. He just doesn't throw the right hand anymore.

I want klit to win but it's unlikely based on his last two performances.

After he demolished Pulev and beat Povetkin I thought there was no one else around to beat him for a few years.

Fury, his style is all wrong for Wlad, people say if Wlad goes for it he will win, problem is i don't see Wlad going for it, he's to afraid of getting tagged himself, his style is what it is, he's been doing the same thing for years and now at 40 i can't see him being able to change, If anything i expect Fury to win more convincingly this time, last time out i think Fury fought within himself just doing what was needed to win, Think Fury might get a late stoppage here.

Wlad is too old now, so Fury would win the rematch

Think Wlad is going to surprise everyone and hurt Fury

Going to be a great fight as both fighters are seriously flawed mentally and physically.

Wlad will still have the power and if he even hurts Fury in the slightest, his confidence will soar and Fury will panic forgetting the game plan, Wlad could also forget the game plan and get ko'd 😀

Very hard to predict, it's Fury fights to lose and that's not a good thing as he's mad

    The first fight was awful.

Very optimistic to think the rematch will be a great fight

Just saw that Charles Martin has been given one year by the IBF to defend his title, Fury got 8 days, joke.

It was a terrible fight. Klitschko was terrible and Fury didn't even have to dig especially deep.

I'll go Klitschko. He may be past his best, but this fight is do or die. It should galvanise him.

He has the tools to win by ko

Couldn't believe how bad Klitschko was in the first fight, he had plenty of opportunities yet time and again he never pulled the trigger. He has always been afraid of getting hit but ffs at some stage he must have known he was going to have to get stuck in.
He badly missed Manny Steward in his corner that night as he would have ate him to get going. If Wlad comes back i think he has to give Fury absolute hell for 4 or 5 rounds and see how effective Fury is after that. But going on last times evidence we might never see him in the ring again he was that bad.

Fury tweeting that an announcement is imminent about his next fight but that we won't believe who it's against!!

Maybe with Knanelo Kell Brook is trying a similar route..

I will guess alot of money was spent by team Wilder to pay off Povetkin... And face Fury..

    Still no word on this?

Can't see it being anyone other then Klitschko really, unless Klit is retiring.

    Maybe Vitali's coming back..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,374 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

It's David Haye. That or Vitali coming back would be shocking. If it's Wilder, then i feel sorry for Povetkin. I believe he is well capable of beating Wilder. His only loss to date was against Wladimir.

It's not Haye I don't think. Fury said he give up the belts rather than give Haye a payday

What was the announcement Tyson was on about a couple of weeks ago?
