V50 clutch

Id appreciate your feedback on this problem. The clutch on my v50 became unresponsive while driving on the M50. Just died with no warning. The peddle is now floppy.
This is a 2012 with low mileage and reasonable driving , not heavy on the clutch.
Any ideas what the problem is and expected cost to fix.

Sounds lke a hydraulic fluid leak in the clutch lines, either a bad union, split hose or leaking clutch slave cylinder. If it is the Ford engine fitted, could be the concentric slave cylinder, which is located in the bell housing f the gearbox. Check under there for signs of leaing brake fluid.

If it's a new clutch, it will be an expensive fix because it's a bitch of a job. Sounds more like a leak though to be honest. Release bearing possibly?

    Thanks four your replys.

We required a new clutch which was all covered under warranty which was a big relief.
