Thought BMX sizing was pretty standard - my younger kids (at under 5' tall) both have new BMX's in adult sizes (which is still very small compared to road bikes), the same size as the adults at Ratoath ride - everything seems to be based on wheel size, which in their cases is the "standard" 20 inches (see here)

A standard BMX frame has a 20 inch toptube.I'm 5 foot 10" and my Haro BMX frame is 21.5" toptube.I'd suggest this is the smallest size you should go for.I think BMX frames used to be available with a 22" toptube, but I don't know if they still make them.

If you're a six foot adult brand new to BMX then I would suggest a cruiser. It's got 24'' wheels and is much more forgiving of pilot input than the lightning responsiveness of a 20'' wheeled bike.
