Is anyone watching this? Why put this on TV during the Christmas. Feels like that Sunday evening feeling dreading school tomorrow morning.

The "dreading school tomorrow", combined with "I haven't done my homework". But it was always accompanied by some decent sambos and a bit of cake.:D

Back in 1994, I appeared (very briefly) in the background of a scene in Glenroe. It remains my proudest achievement.

Well done. But I honestly thought you were a door. That was before I looked at your screengrab.

We are not worthy RayM. Not alone were you in Glenroe, but you were in a scene with Bairbre from Bosco!

I don't remember the show but I recall the GAA drama "On Home Ground" that aired around 2001 on sunday evening, it was very good and I still can't believe they cancelled it after 10 episodes

Even Mario Rosenstock was saying it looked stupid.

    That was an enjoyable programme.

That was a funny scene when Dinny was selling 'Free range' eggs to some fella and Miley was a bit confused asked where he got them and he replied 'Where does anyone get eggs, the supermarket'

And how did it change model completely mid scene?
It went from being a m5 or 6 escort that buddy drove to being the more boxy shaped earlier model when flipped.
They obviously didn't want to use the more expensive car at the time.

The roll in the hay between Miley and Fidelma could be seen as an act of revenge on Biddy. After all, she slept with Fidelma's ex-fiancé Conor.

Like most people I have fond memories of Glenroe, well mainly the theme tune. Watching that docu the other night though reminded me how god awful it usually was, especially in the last few years. The acting was appaling and there was virtually no storyline to most episodes. Biddy has become some kind of irish TV icon but she was an awful miserable bore.

But developed that God awful false accent  She was as ugly as sh1t when she was on Glenroe.

I don't suppose there's a copy online other than the RTE player (can't access it)? Thanks.

Isn't it funny how Biddy and the gang lived in rural Wicklow and used to go on holidays to rural Waterford...and ran a vegetable shop? Was the aim of the game to have as boring a life as possible in good old Catholic Ireland?

'Sticking your auld socks out like rotten turnips', said Miley to Dinny (this was in the very first episode of Glenroe). Shhhuuuuddderrr!

I'm not sure would it be as popular second time around, Ireland is a lot different now to what is was 30 years ago.
