    well lads,

I have the cousin coming in tomorrow to cut hedges and i know he wont want to take money. What sort of rate would be fair to him so i can insist he takes it?

With a hedge clippers €9 an hour.
With a tractor he'd want at least €30 to cover his costs I'd say.

Contractors rates for a flail are approx €35 per hour plus VAT if that's any help. I'm sure he wouldn't take that much but it gives you a starting point.

Yeah for a 10 hour day but as I said that would probably only cover his costs if he has a good outfit IMO

Take 30 euro per hour as a starter and then multiply by how many hours he does and that should be your payment amount

I pay €78/hr+vat for flail hedgecutting here.
The French price a 100+hp tractor and driver at €50/hr before you tackle anything to it.

Must purchase one in the new year...

I was just going to ask how do people factor in the size of the tractor and the machine it drives ? ( as in a bigger better machine could charge more per hour but less for the job ) ,
