Hi, the bonnet release is broken, but can unlock it by undoing catch at grille.
When closing bonnet the latch at grill catches but wont fully lock flush with wings like it normally should.
However its not in danger of flying up due to latch holding it......will that fail or pass nct??

    Fail, its not secured properly.
One bounce and it could come flying back up with poor results.

Regardless of it being an NCT fail it is dangerous. Get it fixed.

it's on the safety catch which is a back up should the catch fail. There being no back up to the back up now, it could mean your bonnet flying open whilst driving which is obviously dangerous.

It is a fail, and a severe "do not drive the car at all" one, happened to me before where there was a knack to closing a bonnet on a car I had and the tester couldn't close it, car received the severe fail.
