Direct drive turbo's any use?

I've only ever used basic mag turbo's. I don't need power reading turbo's cos I've got my own meter. But I am on the turbo a lot - avg 3 times a week, so might be worth buying a posh one. The direct drive ones I'm thinking might be handy but I've never used one.

    Any recommendations?

I use the kickr and think it is a super bit of kit great variety of options on it with endless apps available price is the only downside

Jet Black Whisper Drive is great at the lower price point. The Wahoo Kickr is the best on the market in my opinion , price but if you are using it 3 times per week it might be worth the investment.

Have the whisper drive myself and I find it brilliant. Its my 3rd trainer first was a mag one it was a minoura b60 felt good but load, second was an elite fluid was quite but just didn't like the feel of it. The whisper drive is very road like and has loads of resistance if needed. Has a long coast down, and is very quite. Very heavy unit so feels very sturdy. Doesn't come with a speed sensor but one can be bought separate.

I got mine from the UK for 425 euro delivered as the shop had 10% off deal for crimbo and shipping was free. It's normally 475.

I have the elite Muin smart B+ which is great noise wise and also I tend to use the larger cogs on the cassette with it which I find great as the middle of the cassette normally wears most. The downside however is that while it is a smart trainer the power is inconsistent compared with my PM so I don't use the 'smart' capability at all. No real complaints apart from that though.

With so many people moving to smart trainers, I reckon you could get a great fluid trainer for a song if you go second hand.

I have a Lemond Revolution. I don't think I would recommend it because it's noisy and lacks some high end resistance. Having said that, the feel is great and is a huge improvement on a magnetic trainer. If you train indoors a fair bit, direct drive is probably the way to go.

I presume your pm is located in your pedals, cranks or bb?
