    Hi.
car doors wont lock, but function perfect.

two windows wont work....but drivers window fine.
Someone said as long as drivers window works thats all nct worry about.
Is this true? or do all windows have to work?
Lastly, Have a scrape up the side of car and a dent in the wing. they are cosmetic, but do NCT fail on such things? or is apperance irrelevant?
    Thanks

Doors don't have to lock once they open and close properly.

Only the drivers window needs to be working for the NCT.

A scrape or dent shouldn't be an issue unless there's significant rust or sharp edges.

If any of the damage on the outside had anything that could be seen as sharp or pointy, get a roll of wide black tape and cover it off for the test. Ugly doesn't matter.

    thanks guys....
one last thing..tail light is broken at top part of it...yes you can see some white light showing.
Does it have to be all plastic? or can some red insulation tape make it pass?
    thanks..
I know it sounds like a junker, but its ultra reliable, decent boot, bit ugly and taken a couple small knocks. but its all I need.
(sounds like i am describing a midlands housewife i know!)

Red insulation tape might be a bit too dark.
You can get transparent red tape in Halfords, or perhaps in a motor factors .

great,, didnt think of that. thanks.

so as long as it suits the original look, will nct pass it? or has it got to be a full lens, with no tape?

What car is it? You could get a used rear light unit for 20 quid possibly if it's a common car.
