Should We Be Able To Thank The Prisoners?

There's a thread/discussion about the Prison Forum on Feedback that got me thinking ........ should we be able to "Thank" posts made by the Prisoners/Mods?

I think allowing us to post on there would descend into chaos but being able to "Thank" posts may help Mods/Admins in their decisions and/or let Prisoners know that are fighting a losing battle ........ what you think AH?

Is this poll stupid? 25 votes

Was on that forum for the first time yesterday and I must say it's an absolute disgrace the way the mods and admin talk to people. Terrible attempts at wit and trying to be funny. Talk about a high horse. The whole forum is a waste of time I think

Sort of like a thumbs up or down from a Roman emperor? I like the sound of that.
Emperor Turk Turkelton does have a distinguished ring to it.

I'd say the admins would love nothing more than have regular posters help with the ban appeal process. In fact, I'm surprised none of them have suggested before now themselves.

That poll is pants. Where's the "no" option on it's own?

It takes a particular type of person to become an internet forum moderator.

''The Prison Forum is a joke that should be abandoned in favour of a genuine Appeals process.''

    There is a DRP forum.

And your poll is biased. There should be two no options, one without the negative connotation of disallowing posters to view the posts.

Nothing brightens my day more than reading the Prison forums. There is a certain joy that comes along with watching people try to argue about bans, especially for re-regs.

I would love to see a 'Like' button in the Prison forum.

Someone need to buy those kids a Cadillac for the **** that they put up with.

Unfortunately the Mods on here don't want to know if we Boardsies want a "Thank/Like" button in the Prison Forum or not ........ I wonder why?

If you want your request/question to be taken seriously go to the Feedback forum and ask there.

What would it achieve, having a thanks button in prison?

As I said in the Op, being able to "Thank" posts in the Prison Forum may help Mods/Admins in their decisions and/or let Prisoners know when they are fighting a losing battle ....... it wasn't a serious question/poll anyway, just thought it would be interesting to see what Boardsies thought about the idea.

    Aah, the Prison Gladiatorial Arena.

Nah, I don't see much point in it. We lesser beings can't prove one way or another if X Prisoner is a serial re-reg or a timesink or has 475 red cards, so what'd be the point other than being able to Like a particularly snarky post.

Allowing posts that don't have to be approved by mods/admins would be better move.

Although the might result in the posters having a laugh at the mods expense.

    Speak for yourself.

I read your name as Larry the Lobster and I had to admit that a typing lobster was definitely not a lesser being. :D

I'm looking forward to the huge increase in prison posting over the christmas period, when all the extra time on peoples hands lead to more sentencing.:)

Gordon this. Gordon that. He is so funny. He is great. blah blah blah. That was the general posts from a thread a while ago talking about the prison forum.

Hey, I like reading and posting to boards as much as the next person. But it's only a website. Don't take it so serious. So if boards wants to ban users who don't follow it's 'rules' then that's perfectly fine. But then theres having a forum which officially is designed for people to dispute bans. But in reality is one big circle jerk for mods to come back with witty replies or to just get on their high horse.

Gives them some place to get their own back for all the hassle, and to wind up a troll in return. I don't begrudge them at all :)

Have to laugh at the posts where the same person is back again and again with "Hello?" "HELLO??" "Is anyone actually THERE?? ".
