Lifts not working on our 1390, no hydraulic pressure in the spool valves.
Took the pump of, single pump and there is some slight scoring on it, guy told me if I run thicker oil it could get my lifts working again, would it?

Best bet is to get a new pump or a second hand one

Is it same oil running back end and is there hydra shift/hyd pto.....seems unnecessary risk to use heavier oil IMO

    Is it hyd pto??
Why risk bearing/pto pack etc in the gearbox as heavier oil will be just a pure patch up which may or may not work??

It will be a pure temporary gangster fix which you'd do well not to take advise off whoever told you this

Op. You know the problem so why not fix that instead of risking causing another by using the incorrect oil.
These kind of "genius" fixes always get on my wick.
