If I employ someone on freelance basis part time and pay them above a certain amount do I have to notify tax authorities or is it up to the employee?

If so, what is the ceiling amount?

On a freelance basis, you'd invoice them. And they'd account for their own tax. If they charge VAT, you'd account for the payment in the usual way

You say it's a freelancer but keep referring to "employing" them. Which is it?

If it's a third party provider, and not an employee then would it not come under the Form 46G filing requirements?
