We have been with UPC/Virgin for years.
While we find the service good , their routers are crap.
We have had to replace them three times in the last year.
We are on a bundle TV/Broadband 240mb/ Phone. If we go broadband only could we replace the router with our own router. ?

The cable modem/router is supplied by Virgin Media and they will only allow their own modem/routers to connect to their network.

But depending on which one you have it is possible to bridge them and use your own router for WiFi etc.
