DART from Dun Laoghaire

I'm thinking of buying some property in Dun Laoghaire and wondering what the Dart into town is like (circa 8:40am). I haven't been on the Dart regularly in years and never that far out. Any chance of a seat or will people be packed in like sardines already by that point?

Think it through - I'm out of the Greater Dublin Area for over two years but of course it's going to be busy. Years ago, before I moved I did a couple of dry runs on the train and bus. Really, the only reliable way for you to decide is to do the same. I could tell you any old toot but it isn't that long a journey into the city centre from DL. It's worth getting up early to see if it's doable from your own perspective.

I'm thinking of doing that but around now isn't really going to be too representative. I wouldn't think anyway.

Yes its packed. But they run frequent enough. And you get on and sometimes have to stand. It's only 15-20 minutes to the city.

I think no matter where you are on a commuter line. It's going to be at its busiest between 7-9am and 4-6pm

The 837 from Dun Laoghaire actually starts there, on platform 3 so you would definitely get a seat there. The busiest train in the country the 0800 from Greystones arrives into DL at 0830, so avoid that.
