    Hi guys.

I was suggested in asking for help here on this board. So here goes. Any advice and help would be appreciated.

As it will be my first time buying and setting up a satelite box im looking for best price/quality combination. I really dont want to spend a lot of €€€ but also dont want to buy something that i will regret. I came across this satelite box:

    Redline-TS-4000-HD on amazon.de for around 100€

What do you guys think about it? Would it be equivalent to a VU+ Solo?
Any other suggestions in this price range (max to 150€)
Im really looking for a box that really just works great for watching tv..
Also the support and setting up to be as easy as possible.

    Once again thanks .

When you say just watch tv I'm assuming you're not bothered about a fancy 7 day epg, recording while watching other channels etc. These are the things that add cost.

I have this box on a second tv. http://www.freetv.ie/amiko-mini-combo.html

Includes Irish and UK channels and picture quality is great. Can record via usb drive if you want. Very basic epg.

In my main room I have an xtrend Linux box which gives you sky type functionality. Costs about 300 for that.

    Hi Bigcheeze...

Absolutely right about lots of fancy things. I really just want it to play sat tv without glitches or any other problems. I have seen that amiko. Also looked at the Vu+ zero. Very simple boxes but yet powerfull enough. Then i came across the redline ts 4000 hd and that sparked my interest as it does a little more than just play tv. Price is great yet i dont know how to translate its specs. Obviously if i can get a little extra for the buck, why not? :-) Its also important to note, it will be my primary box. Although in French i think you can get an idea of its specs. Dont know if it can record though .

I'm a bit of a novice as I only canceled upc last month so some of the more experienced posters might know that box.

Absolutely right about lots of fancy things. I really just want it to play sat tv without glitches or any other problems.

If you want a sat receiver that you can plug and play and then forget about I would suggest a Freesat receiver, user friendly interface and 7 day programme guide, red button and text services with channel updates carried out automatically, recorder versions also available.

    http://www.freesat.co.uk/get-freesat

No Saorview Irish channels with this box but a combined Freesat/Saorview receiver is expected to be announced next month with availability next spring.
