Was planning on going for a shot but as I was thinking about where to go it lashed down with rain.

Is this worse than the snow in 2010, at least you could go for a walk in the snow.

The rain, mud, ****e and humidity are conspiring against me. There seems to be plenty birds around still.

All I want for Christmas is a nice frosty morning.

Met Eireann say to get the feck out and stop whinging ;);)

    Today
Cool today with widespread showers, some heavy and of hail with isolated thunderstorms in places, especially during the morning. Sunny spells also, but it will be windy with strong southwesterly winds at first moderating by evening. Afternoon temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees Celsius.

    Tonight

Tonight showers will become isolated and it will become mostly dry for a time with good clear spells. Cool with temperatures falling to between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius for a time, in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds. However, later in the night it will become cloudy from the west with rain turning heavy and persistent by morning in strengthening southerly wind.

    Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning will be wet and windy, but the rain will clear eastwards and it will be mostly dry in the afternoon with just isolated showers in the west and northwest with some sunny spells. Strong southerly winds will veer southwest and decrease fresh with the clearance. Top temperatures will be 8 to 11 degrees.

    Outlook

Headline: Wet and windy at times and turning cooler for Wednesday and Thursday.

Monday night heavy rain in the southwest and west will spread country wide in strong southerly winds. Lowest temperatures will be 5 to 9 degrees.

On Tuesday heavy rain will continue and turn more showery in the northwest later with some bright or sunny spells developing. Still mild with top afternoon temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in a moderate to fresh southwesterly breeze. Showers will continue in the west and northwest on Tuesday night and it will turn colder with lowest temperatures falling to between 3 and 6 degrees.

Wednesday will be a cold day with good sunny spells and mostly dry in the east but scattered showers in the west, some heavy or of hail. Top temperature of 6 to 9 degrees which is close to normal for the time of year. Southerly winds will be moderate but increase fresh to strong later as rain become widespread again on Wednesday night and clears eastwards on Thursday morning. Turning cold on Wednesday night with lowest temperatures falling to between 2 and 4 degrees.

It will stay cold on Thursday with afternoon temperatures of just 5 to 8 degrees with the risk of showers turning wintry in the northwest.

Was watching SKY news last night and they say it's one of the mildest winters on record. Temperatures in the early teens, and middle to high single digits at night.

So instead of frost and snow we get rain and mud.
