I'm a novice and would appreciate advice. I have never had Sky. I have a dish and a Televes box. I want to record from BBC, ITV etc. I've seen a Manhattan box and read about a Humax. Is this what I need and where should I buy? I'm in Cork but I'll be in Dublin next week. Thanks in advance.

There are a number of boxes that can record
some use internal hard drives ( Good )
Some use usb connected hard drives or usb keys ( not as good )
I use a vu+ duo2 with a hard drive that I removed from an old sky box
    Works great
I have an amiko alien 2 that uses a usb drive and requires frequent attention but still a great combo receiver

I dont have a Humax box but I believe they are quite good but dont do saorview
freetv.ie do a edission optimus 3 box that can have saorview and sat stations in one box with 1 remote and takes a internal hard drive
