Soundproofing a practice room

Any tips for soundproofing a practice room in my house on the cheap? I'm not talking about recording studio quality, just enough so that people in the next room won't hear me warbling through the paper-thin door. I've seen a Stairville Acoustic Curtain on Thomann, could be what I need, or at least a help. Would be willing to spend a bit but not too much. Also, it's a rented house so can't go drywalling etc. Anyway, any suggestions welcome.
