    FROSTY BERRY 5* 9/4-Southwell, 15:20
(I so want to put 10* here but I'm terrified to)
Up in trip tomorrow to 2m & carries a penalty, She has the scope to be even better upped to two miles.
My favorite horse at the moment 3 from 3 since joining Ed de Giles including two at this track.since 03/11/2015
Won well from the rear @33/1 3rd Nov 2015
24th Nov opened 4/1 drifted to 14/1, beautiful boom
    Boomed again 8th Dec @ 5/1

    THOMAS BROWN 5* Ascot 2.30
Was a decent novice hurdler last season and he jumped well when scoring nicely on his chase debut at this track last month. Today's extra couple of furlongs will suit him well.

    YANWORTH 4* 1.55 Ascot
He has won two hurdle races and two NH flat races from 2m to 2m 1f on good to soft and soft ground. Won on his latest outing in a hurdle race when 1-4fav at Warwick over 2m (good to soft) last month, beating Le Prezien by 1 1/4l. Has also won at Exeter this season.

FLY DU CHARMIL 4* 12.50 Ascot
Saw off Them all off from the front in a Newbury bumper last month. This distance should suit this Warren Greatrex's Irish point-to-point scorer.
Bought for £80,000 after winning a point in April and lot to like about manner of debut bumper success at Newbury last month. No surprise he's upped in trip He's a bright prospect.

    TRIGGER PARK 5* 11/2 - Southwell, 12:30
    1st Dec 2nd @ 8/1 behind Tijuca 25/1 who was 3rd on tues @7/2fav (seemed off form)
Modest gelding. Creditable second of 10 in handicap (8/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 17 days ago.

    MANHATTAN MEAD 1* 33/1 - Ascot, 12:50
Ran 2nd behind William H Bonney @200/1 at Plumpton on 30/11/15 over Im7f in a relatively strong field, this result was unexpected at the price
    timeform
Easily best effort when runner-up in a Plumpton novice 3 weeks ago, though that form does look rather suspect.

    SEEKING MAGIC 5* - 5.40
would probably have won on his last visit to the Dunstall Park track had he not been drawn on the outside in stall 12 of the 13 runners.
Even so, he ran a superb race and was only beaten half a length by Kasbah.
Winner of his previous start at Kempton, he was a fine third there behind the classy Lancelot Du Lac on his latest outing.
Racing from stall four on this occasion, Seeking Magic should get a handy position early on and hopefully do the business.
WATCH for BASIL BERRY 4* In this race 3 wins from 14 runs this year. 7/2, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at this C&D 14 days ago (despite a slow start). Looks competitive on form.

Managed to get 50/1 on Peintre's pick in the 8:30, so that will do me nicely for starters. Bit worried to see Usain backed from 20's to 8's though. Reviewed its last race there where it came from last to make up ground despite being ridden very tenderly at Dundalk last time. The step up in trip to 1m2 will definitely suit this one - won't be at all surprised to see it win.

Absolute bet of the day has to be Farraj in the 11:15 at Jebel Ali though. This one has been going all over the world competing in some of the very best races, very often placing and putting in respectable performances. Today sees it dropping down to a very ordinary race over the dirt of Jebel Ali against horses nearly a stone more inferior. Been very impressed with Chris Hayes over at this track, racking up plenty of winners for the trainer, so he'll certainly get the best out of this one. Best price currently 15/8.

Brutal ride, better jock and better draw and will be a max bet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,931 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Don't think it was a particularly bad ride, more than anything, the pilot didn't want to win. As you say though, it finished well and is definitely one to watch out for next time.

Spirit of the LAW 25-1 ew 9.00

Freely available @ 7/2 on the machine, bookies go 13/8, robbing bastards and lads walking in off the streets see a 13/8 shot and jump on it then, I was just in the bookies for the race and it happened. Lad sat beside me and I said this Usain is drifting and 7/2 here on the machine, **** off he said, can't be.

I know its lads getting their money off that were on at bigger prices but still the punter gets stung.

I think she just can't ride in fairness. Look at her soon after the start when she went to switch inside on the rail when it was clear she was about to be cut off and had to pull back. Then just watch her throughout the race it looked like she couldn't control the horse. Same thing happened the other times she rode it in big field Curragh handicaps, too much to do before flying. I had too much faith in her ability tonight in a smaller field I'll know for the next time not to back it with her up

    Meh now 20-1 on PP

Political Policy is so consistent that it seems wrong to back it as I expect it to stop, the
    consistency.

Had a wall in front of it and Jockey didn't fancy the chance of breaking through, and eased. That what I saw through my eyes.

political policy a double header of negativity from the racing post analysis but couldnt deny his previous double wins. its a lotto just stick it on and hope the horse is on song on the day(nevermind long distance jumps but sprints are much harder to predict).

i hate telling people my picks just in case im wrong. there is always one tramp that ****s up the accumulator. i place one euro each way accums on 8+ horses EVERY day 7/8, 8/9, 9/12, 9/11, BUT somedays i got 7wins two places which paid back the jackpot of a million. KEEP trying everyday religiously - somedays u see a jockey who proclaimed at the end of the race that they thought another lap of the course was required....these are scams only to deflect ur realisation that theres serious money to be made from horse racing!

I have read that 3 times and am struggling to make head or tail of it.

    It's been a long week.
