Problem with new tv and sky eye

I have a tv connected to a sky eye in the kitchen. The sky box (grundig) is in the attic. It's a fairly old one. It worked fine but the other day I got a new tv. So I disconnected the old tv and connected the new one but now the sky eye is saying no satellite signal received error 29.
I reconnected the old tv and the channels came in fine. I then connected back up the new tv and its back to no satellite signal error 29.
Anyone any ideas? Surely if it works on one tv it should work on the new one.

When the sky eye is connected to the new tv have you tried rescanning for new channels?

Scanning on the tv or the box? Sky comes through on the tv as in the menus and the blue screen.

Do the tv install / Scan with the sky box on and connected.
    Should find it then.

But the tv scan only scans through the tv not the sky box. The sky box comes in on one channel on the tv and the channels are changed from the box.

From the looks of that, you'd have to guess that the power circuit to the LNB is faulty, & the old TV is somehow enabling the fault to be overcome, while the new TV doesn't allow this.

    Any way to fix it?
I have another box somewhere so maybe I'll just try that and see what happens

Sorry I'd didn't read your post right. So you can see menus from the sky box on the tv but no actual pictures?

Yep can see the sky menus and fiddle around with them. Just no channels coming in just the message no satellite signal being received.

    Its very strange that.
Could it be that one of the tvs is set to send power down the aerial cable - typically to power an antenna and maybe this is somehow causing an issue for the sky box.

Does the kitchen have an independent feed in use from the satellite dish?
