Just checked my bank balance online and I seem to have a double payment? Does this apply to all benefits please?

My husband on CE scheme got normal payment this week, apparently is getting double next week.

It may vary but some CE participants are getting the usual single payments which will go through bank on 24th and 31st.

I don't understand. I got double payment last Wednesday. Is this a bonus or is it because the offices are closed during Xmas?

And if so, does that mean I will get another payment this Wednesday?

Your getting nothing this week
Then you will get your normal payment next week, but on Tuesday not Wednesday

Hi folks, I am on a gateway scheme and was just wondering if anybody can shed some light on what day I can expect to receive the double week payment this week? Nobody in my work can give me a proper answer, they just shrug there shoulders and say "I dunno".

Incorrect!

You can collect next weeks payment this Wednesday (23rd) if you wish, but then you will be without payment until January 5th.

My mate was told in the Salthill PO (Galway) that there was the double payment last Monday and for CEers that was paid on Friday. I just checked with my supervisor today and I found out that people on CE also get a single payment this Friday but none the following Friday. My mate who collects his dole on the Monday was told by a po worker last Monday that they were also to get a single payment today, but there was no payment to collect this morning.

I'm doing a Gateway scheme and Got paid a double payment today. Its a long time til pay day again but feck it its Christmas!!

I normally get paid on Wednesdays so I would assume the 6th. Didn't get any notice of double payment so just guessing.

I'm in receipt of JSA and got a double payment last week. I get paid on Tuesdays.

I assumed my next payment wouldn't be due until 29 Dec but the lady in the Post Office said th ere would be a payment tomorrow 23rd Dec ready so that we can collect tomorrow. Anyone know if this is accurate?

Yes, it's accurate. If you collect it on the 23rd, you won't have another payment until Jan 5th. You can leave tomorrows payment until the 29th if you want.

Sorry for this post but I'm still a bit confused. I am on JSA and have been paid up to today 22nd. Last week I received the double payment. When is the latest I can collect my next payment? I only ask so I can sort out my travel arrangements over Christmas. Thanks

I thought in the budget this year social welfare payments got an xmas bonus? I thought the double last week was payment+bonus and then normal payment this week?

Bonus was paid on the first week in December. Double last week and payment is there today too but nothing next week.

100% yes you can. Technically you're not suppose to collect it until next week anyway.

Cheers, didn't want to have the 3 week wait to retrieve a missed payment, happened to me once and I swore I'd never miss another collection day.

An absolute scandal! I can't believe there isn't a big deal being made of this, long term arse scratchers rewarded while someone who trys but was unlucky enough to lose their job gets nothing.

100 % you cannot collect it Tues 29th.....all post offices closed that day, hence why mon and tues (28th and 29th) payments were moved
