i presently have a baxi solo3 PFL50 GAS BOILER, which is working fine and has never been serviced since install circa 12years ago, i have to turn a lever located in hot press if i just want either heating or hot water, the electronic timer i have works fine to set on offf etc, but unfortunately if mains power goes the clock loses its programmed memory, so when mains power comes back on liable to turn heating on for up to 6 hours, unless i re-programme it, i got a battery to sort but unfortunately will not work,
i had a company survey house they will supply a new boiler (ideal logic 18kw) supply and fit a 2-zone digital timer divide system into 2 zones water and heating as well as power flush system etc for around €1900 to me incl seai grant, looking for guidance to see if i should go with this, many thanks for replies

1900 for the above job and a cheap boiler like the logic is still wayyyy to cheap. Without the grant it'd be 2600. That's still nearly 1,000 cheaper than a reputable installer would do the job for. You get what you pay for.

i was only looking for guidance as to what to do ie go with it, get quote for using present boiler and get it zoned for water/heater, or leave the whole lot until it breaks down, use another boiler make, look at job done by installers before, they seem good to deal with, giving a manufacturers parts/labour warranty for 5years providing it is serviced every year

What do you need to know? Is it too cheap? Yes
Is there better boilers on the market? God yes
What are they? Ariston, Worcester Bosch, viesmann, Valliant, wolf
They all give 5 year warranty and are better boilers
If you can afford it then upgrade both boiler and controls because as soon as you upgrade, you'll be saving money. but don't waste your money and time on cheap quotes. They're cheap for a reason.
