    hi,

i have schwalbe durano plus tyre 23C and specialize tube 20-28 (just for record) the wheel is from old road bike (single sided) thats bike for commuting...my question is suddenly it starts to pop out there is a bulge there. it looks like it happens in that particular part of tyre. well is the tyre bead somehow compromised or just that the wheel would not support 7 bars? well now there is 5 bars but its just about to go out dont wanna ride like this, do i have to use different tyre? or am i just putting it wrong ?

Your tyre is bulging at the valve in your pic. Deflate the tyre and place a cable tie around the wheel/tyre on each side of the valve and tighten it a bit. Inflate the tyre again slowly and watch how it inflates at that point. If it seems to hold its shape, cut the ties before inflating fully.

(PS - I had to copy and paste your pic link to google).

I think the tyre does not seat properly due to the valve being tightened too much at this stage. Try loosening the valve ring about 1cm down, pushing the valve in and then resetting the tyre slightly.

Pump it carefully to the required pressure and then tighten the ring.

Yes, as mentioned, it's because of the valve - when inflating any tyre, give the tube just enough pressure to keep the tyre in shape (10-15psi/<1 bar), and then push the valve up into the tyre (no collar on it, or very loose) and ensure that the bead of the tyre is seated fully, like the rest of the tyre, and then inflate the tyre the rest of the way.

Alek has it described perfectly. I wouldn't bother taking the collar 1cm down. Just take it off altogether, no need for it.

thansk guys for replies. i have eventually fixed the issue by just rotating the tyre around the rim to a different position which fixed the issue. although the valve could possibly create the pop but that happened even on the part of the tyre which was further away from valve. so one thing i think the maxxis tubes are piece of junk because after inflating they create strange not constant shapes which i think could have caused the issue so eventually got me self a different tube rotated the tyre and is ok....well strange i have changed many tubes before never happend anything similar i have to say...

    many thanks again

anyone can recommend good quality tubes ? i have bought now some kenda from one online store for 2.50e so i hope they are better than those maxxis ones..

I have had plenty of tubes do this and never had an issue, include supposedly "good quality ones". I don't think its a sign of bad quality tunes.
