Civil Service in Registry office

We have decided to take the plunge after 14 years, really more a matter of getting round to it. We are being practical too, we have kids and if anything were to happen to either of us we would be alot more financially secure.

Feeling very nevous now I'm about to book the notification meeting, plan on getting hitched once the three months are up.
I'm not into weddings at all and can't think of anything worse, also we don't need the debt, we are not planning on telling family or friends at all, I have a huge family who are all fighting with each other and I could not be doing with their carry on.
OHs are fine, but would probably be pushing for big wedding, I don't even want to wear a dress so we will probably just not tell anyone at all. no aggro then.

I rang the registrars office to find out about witnesses and we can leave the filling of the names till the day before but unfortunately we can't drag people off the street to be witnesses.

Anyone want to be witnesses in Killarney in roughly 3 to 4 months time?
No dressing up required:D I'll probably wear jeans.

I knw it's €200 for the fee but does that cover the cost of the civil ceremony in the registry office as well?

Hello congrats to ye!!! Ah after 14 years it will be loverly.. Ye should plan something nice afterwards just for yerselfs to make it feel special....

I thought you could change at the last moment, I remember someone asking before, but maybe not. Sorry cant help you on that one as im in Cork... but for the fee yes that will cover the ceremony in the reg office, there should be no extra charges

The €200 covers all that. Could you ask a couple of trustworthy friends to act as witnesses? And congratulations!
