Afraid to check my breasts

Hey I've had a thing with my left breast for about a month when my child leans on it or anything it's very sensitive and feels like there must be something there. I'm afraid to check it and I know that must sound silly, I'm 36! My mother had breast cancer a few years ago and got better after treatment. I kind of skimmed over it checking but not sure if I'm doing it right, I'm afraid I'll find a lump :(

The best thing to do is to get a doctor to check it, as they'll know what they're looking for. I know it's a bit embarrassing but they deal with this stuff every day.

Any chance you could be pregnant? My boobs got VERY tender and lumpy in early pregnancy!

Do go to a doctor with your concerns. They'll be able to organise a scan, if necessary, to put your mind at ease.

Even if there is a lump there, it's very likely it'll end up being a cyst or similar. But it's so important to get it checked out.

Oh I hope not my husband got the snip 18 months ago. Yes the doctor I think is the step to take. Ill just have to bite the bullet and make that appointment and hopefully it's ok.

OP I know how scary it is, my doc found a lump in a routine check and it scared the bejesus out of me. It was a benign fibroadenoma and it's grand. But please do get checked, it's really important.
