Is there such a thing as a watch/clock making kit - preferably for someone with no experience in the area?

Ideally something that will take a bit of time to put together, and will also look somewhat nice when done!

    Thanks.

You can get plans online and I've seen sites that sell the kits. You've got me looking again would like one for the hall.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Thanks - I saw them ages ago but had completely forgotten about them. Will have a look around for the kits.

For some reason always reminds of something else. Just can't place it :P

Been doing some searching these sites seem to be two main sites

    http://www.woodenclocks.co.uk
Most plans are $20 though he has a couple of free ones.

    Love this one

    and
    http://wooden-gear-clocks.com/kit_description.html
who also sell plans and full or part kits US based so shipping is $65 and with customs looking at over €250

    Even have your grasshopper wibbs

I would like to put one together and probably do have the ability to fabricate the parts but lack the equipment and time. Couldn't justify spending money on a scroll saw and lathe so a kit is tempting.

Anyone any idea how much it would cost to get a company to cut it for me from the cnc files with a cnc router or lazer router?

This particular kit mostly just snaps together so requires few tools but isn't as durable or as accurate as his other clocks

Mike Stuffler on WUS? It's a bit like his signature, mostly on the German watches page.
