BB Nightmare

Right-here's my headache. I have a carbon race bike with a press fit BB set-up. The internal diameter of this is 42mm and the width of it is as standard (67 I think but open to correction). I just got a BB30 SRAM red chainset and was wondering what BB to use. I had a rotor 3D 24mm chainset so that BB is no good (and is shagged anyway). Please help before my head explodes from looking at the Internet. I have mailed frame manufacturer but no reply yet. Cheers peeps.

All that was written on it was 30 to 24. The left side screwed into the right side(or vice versa) internally in the BB housing.

You have a standard bb30 then not the pressfit one(pf30) so ignore my last suggestion. You need something like this

Right. Just a query then-what stops the bearings falling into frame or falling out and will the cranks be running off the frame? Apologies for my ignorance.

Bearings press diretly into frame and are stopped by the circlips. Cover is put on and cranks tightened up. You may need a bearing press (you can make a home made one easily enough).
