Is anyone else having problems with their NTL / UPC / Virgin (whatever the current brand is, service appears to be every bit as sh1tty) broadband?

Had sporadic issues earlier today and about an hour ago broadband completely stopped working.

Surprise surprise, no phone number I can ring, no web page (for Ireland) informing of issues. Some mentions on twitter of others being down but not enough for me to tell if it's a real issue or just some people with localised problems.

    I'm in Dublin 6

    It's down for most of Dublin 6 & 8.

Wow! That's the best outcome I've ever had from a board post.

It's been out for about two hours, as soon as I posted that (via 3G) I looked over at my router and saw 4, unflashing green lights!!!

This post is brought to you courtesy of my newly restored broadband!

They're the only ISP here with a status page:

    https://my.virginmedia.com/faults/service-status

The HFC network is rather decentralized compared to the ADSL networks so outages will often be small ones.
