Weanlings scouring from nuts

I have been feeding ten weanlings a high maize nut with 15% protein. The only problem they are scouring like mad and they are only getting 1kg per head per day. I was hoping to be feeding them 2 kg by now. I keep having to pull back the amount I give them. The are eating dry first cut silage. Worm dosed, fluked as well. I know it's the nuts. They are lightish weanlings around 300kg. Any thoughts

High Molasses content? Crows soiling the troughs ? Coccidiosis? Maybe try adding ctc powder for a few days

Get the vet out asap!! Before anyone go back. Get bloods taken something serious wrong. Just on a side note are you sure it's a dedicated wrangling ration, 15 %protein seems low. Too much cereal could by hard on young weanlings. I'd be looking for 18% minimum important to grow frame!!

Honestly I think it is bull nut rashion I got in the bin. They told it was good weanling nut, but I think it is too rich, they dry up when I give them .5 of a kg of crunge and .5 kg of nuts, I do think it's the nuts, but maybe it is something else

I'd also look at the silage you're giving them, had my weanlings on leafy rich aftergrass silage a few years ago and the scutter was unreal. Put them on well wilted first cut and that firmed them up.

Thanks for that yea I am feeding good dry first cut silage. I have loads of the wet stuff too but not feeding it to them.

The maize would be hard on young cattle.
