    Hi all,

I am going to buy in 50 a
AA calves this spring to rear.
I was thinking of getting them contract reared. What's the + & - to getting this done and costs?
Any one know any contract rearers?

The - is that you'll have no profit. It would be hard enough to make profit out of them with your own land and labour never mind paying someone else for them.

You'd want to be getting the calves and the milk replacer free to make that venture pay.

I only need them reared for duration of time on milk around 10weeks.

I was thinking if a dairy man wanted to sell his milk to rear these calves, but then most diary farmers have enough to do...

What does it cost to rear a calf? Incl every thing from milk, vaccine straw meal etc?!
