My own are the same. Hit one with pen & strep and he seems to have improved. Might hit a few more

No, just watchful in case one does go off-feed or start panting.

Had the same problem myself. Injected six weeks ago, cleared up and came back two weeks ago. We have poor circulation which wouldn't help but have been using CTC powder and took blood samples earlier in the week. It's the only way to know for sure what's wrong. Hoose, pneumonia and IBR is on the scene at the minute. Get a blood test and if they are eating meal, sprinkle in CTC powder. You have to feed that individually in a bucket - just to be warned.

A neighbour of mine mixed it with the feed for 3 days
Was he wrong to mix it and
Is 3 days long enough to give it

It will work fine in feed. Usually the recommended course is longer than 3 days, 5-7 days.

    Respichlor datasheet.

Every year I hope that I won't have to use that stuff and every year I end up shelling out for it.

As above - I mix it in the feed for 6 days.

We're leaving the doors of the slatted unit open all day and night, and we also shave their backs (highly highly recommend)
    No problems so far :o

clipping here for last 2 years & see a huge improvement

takes a bit of time but i hate using unnecessary drugs/antibiotics when there is an alternative (& cheaper) solution

Few here have had bits of snotty noses past few days. Coughing a bit this morning too. I sprinkle that respichlor powder in their nuts..always seems to clear things up.

    What's the idea behind clipping?

It helps to stop calves getting hot and sweating.

When the idea first came to the fore I was told it made the animals feel the cold and therefore eat more.................. what I think it does apart from reduce sweating is to remove a lot of lice and lice eggs while population numbers are still low.

I find may as well as be throwing money away if using pouron without clipping... Just can't get through the thick mats of hair contential animals have. With backs clipped pouron can penetrate much easier.
