I have an oil boiler - it is about 17 years old at this stage, but still going fine.

I have always put marked gas oil into it. But kerosene seems to be much cheaper.

    Can I use kerosene?

Kerosene can be used but not without changing pump pressure and nozzle at a minimum

If it's running well on diesel and regularly serviced, I would leave well enough alone. You wouldn't notice much difference in cost to run it. Diesel has a slightly higher heat value per litre than kerosene.

Just looked up prices, I didn't realise there was such a difference in price of diesel.
I would seriously consider changing now. Talk to your regular service guy about it. He will know your boiler setup.
