I rang irish water to report that the water pressure to the house i just moved into isnt high enough to fill the tank, so as a result we cannot shower or use the toilet in the house, i was told on the phone that no timeline could be given, i dont think this is good enough and need to know when someone will be out to sort this.

If your renting, then try your landlord first. might be an internal issue, or if it is low pressure then he could fit a power shower.

Can you let us know (in general terms, obviously not personal details!) what is the outcome of this?  I have a similar, if not nearly as bad, problem - the pressure in my gas boiler reduces gradually until every few weeks it cuts out automatically - there isn't enough pressure in the mains to refill the system during the day or evening so I wind up having to get up at 4 or 5 in the morning to do it.

I'd be interested to know if there's anything can be done about it.

(I have no problem with water pressure in taps in the house)
