Polo is the way to go. Very reliable and don't cost much to insure. I've found Aviva to be best for learner insurance:)

I got insurance on my mothers car and then I bought my own polo. She is also the policy holder on the polo so it only cost €970, and I'm 17 - which was really good and I'm still on the learners permit.

Better off going on your own policy, its not illegal for a start if you own the car and shall be main driver.

Learner permit,1.4 07 corsa, not long 25 was around 1700 for me in august..so might be a bit more for you.

Be sure to ring companies too as online I was getting quotes of 3000+

Depends what Polo.... 1.2 Polo's are definitely not known to be the most reliable of yokes. And if you're talking of the older 1.0 model, I reckon they're a bit on the ancient side of things.

As new a shape fiesta you can get would be a decent shout imo.

The car is in my mothers car. It knocked off €2000 nearly.

Never said it wasn't. Just saying that if the OP wants to buy their own car its better off in the long term for them to have their own policy from the get go
