Hi folks, small bit of advice required please. I have to disconnect and then reconnect a solid fuel boiler stove from the water. There are two pipes attached at the back connecting to the cylinder which is between 3 and 4 ft away. There are shut off valves at the cylinder end. Having drained the connecting pipes, will the air in those pipes cause an airlock when I reconnect? Thanks.

OK, when I get home. I'm not sure though if photos would help, they're just red-handled wind-in shut off valves. They control the water to and from the stove, so when I shut them and drain the two short pipes there'll be air in the pipes. When I reconnect I'm worried that air will airlock the system, and I'm not sure how to bleed it.

We'd definitely have to see the valve arrangement to advise

Ok, thanks. It's just a closing valve on each of the two pipes.

Depending on exactly where the valves are installed, you may have a very dangerous setup. Please do post the pictures.
