    Help.

Have just replaced an old HKC SABB with a Pyronix Grade 2/3 Delta Bell, and every time I close the lid the alarm goes off and I can't stop it from the control panel. Even with the lid closed and the tamper switch closed. The alarm panel is still reading EXt Bell Tamper switch open. If I manually press the tamper switch, it sets off the alarm. I have put a 4K7 resistor between tamper and SAB hold. Anyone have any tests I can do to see why tamper switch is reading open even when closed.

    Wiring is as follows:
    TR - T1
    STB -ve - STB
    Bell -ve - Bell
    Bell +ve - +12V
    SAB Hold - -12V

    4K7 Resistor between T2 and -12V.

Loop Sab hold to the top tamper. Wire tamper return into the other tamper with the resistor in series.

Perfect thanks for the response, works perfectly now.

Also, do you happen to know if I put a Honeywell DT8012F5 PIR on its own zone to the same HKC panel does it need a EOL resistor?

You can do either. You programmed the EOL type you are using in Zone Hardware.

Thanks again Koolkid, this is a very useful form. Many thanks for all your help.

Okay everything working perfectly except PIR tamper. It is a single detector on a 6 wire cable. If I short the tamper pair at the detector connections, tamper alarm clears, but as soon as PIR is remounted Tamper Alarm appears. I have 2 new PIR's and have swapped them and fault still exists.

So doesn't look like cabling, or detectors, more likely config of some sort? Any suggestions?

Can you put up a picture of the connections and what configuration of resistors are you using?
