This is on behalf of someone else who is not on boards.
I sent a cv to a company that I liked the look of working for. I was called for an interview with them about 2 weeks ago but haven't heard anything back yet.
I spotted an advert for a job in this company a couple of days ago in the area I'm looking to work in.
My question is do I apply for this job or do I assume that my interview would be considered an application??
    Thanks

Yes you should apply for the job in my opinion.

If I was in your position I would write a cover letter explaining that I was in for an interview already and have been following the company with interest ever since (thus noticing the job). Explain why your skills match the role and maybe explain how you would approach the role (if relevant).

Make sure the CV covers each requirement for the role as much as possible, repeating it many times.
