Converting Pilot license

    Hi guys, my boyfriend has a brazilian commercial pilots license (anac). He is coming to live in Ireland and needs to convert his license to the European commercial pilots license (easa). How do we convert his license? What do we need in order to obtain an Easa for him? I really hope you guys can help me. Thank you so much :)

    Best thing would be to contact the IAA.

    I believe he would need to do the ATPL's again and a conversion course.

    Before you contact the IAA, you will need the following, his total hours, types and positions held (PIC / SIC).

    There is a pyramid of experience and where he falls in that pyramid will dictate how much theoretical and flight training he will have to do.

    Even if he plans to live in Ireland, there is no requirement for him to do the training in Ireland, he will find schools in Poland and Greece are much cheaper. And as a final note, get him to do a CLASS 1 medical with the Maher before you start spending serious money as you cannot transfer the medical.
