This Saturday night/Sunday morning at 5am will see Ireland's Conor McGregor attempt to take the UFC belt from undefeated champion Jose Aldo. If he succeeds McGregor will become Ireland's first ever UFC champion in a sport that is seeing rapid growth and interest in this country.

Aldo has beaten every man put before him for 10 years and undoubtedly deserves being rated as one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. He is known for his leg kicks which have been compared to getting struck with a baseball bat and also his jujitsu However he is coming to the end of his career and injuries might have taken their toll. Aldo would love to retire as the undefeated champion but McGregor is hungry for his title in what should one of the biggest fights this year.

McGregor too has lots of tricks in his bag. His ground game may be limited but on his feet he packs a ferocious left punch that has already seen him knock several opponents stone dead. His roundhouse kicks have the ability to leave opponents gasping for air. He also has a very hard chin and is well able to take a punch without going down.

If McGregor beats Aldo it would him one of Ireland's wealthiest ever sports stars with some estimating that he has already made $60m from the UFC before this fight. Victory and a world title on Saturday night could push him over the $100m mark, which is pretty astonishing given he was on the dole up until a few years ago. His rise in the UFC has been nothing short of meteoric and whether people love him or hate him there's no doubt

So who does AH feel will win? I reckon McGregor can do this but there is no doubting Aldo is far from easy to beat.
