Looking at changing the current taxi for one of these, currently drive a 2.4 06 petrol sonata , so looking at something more economical.

looking to go up to a 10-12 model so it could be a late mk2 or early mk3

anything i need to know about these, been looking online and most of the reports are good, still nervous about buying one.

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!

You can get a Hybrid battery health check for €50 at the main dealers, it might be worth getting this done as a condition of sale prior to purchase to be sure it's working correctly. The warranty on the hybrid battery is 5 year or 100k km from new. The MK3 is a big step up from the MK2.

Don't buy a Japanese Import version as the stereo will be replaced by a rubbish aftermarket one.

Far as I remember the mk2 battery warranty was 8 years/160km

I find the gen 2 (up to 09),a lot more comfortable than the current model ,

Gen 2 has , higher seating position, softer damping and higher profile tyres, maybe slightly smaller boot.

Also in reality I didn't see any significant gains in efficiency with the gen 3 ,

So if they are not too old for your taxi purposes you might be able to save a few bob by sticking to the older model , but see for yourself. Good luck .

Maybe check out a high mileage one with history from the UK for value and leather.
