tractor loader hydraulics

    Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a New Holland TS115A with front loader. It has the higher flow rate hydraulic pump. My problem is as follows when working the loader, if the joystick is moved the full amount in any direction the loader mover accordingly with little affect on engine revs. However if the joystick is moved part way, to move the loader at a more controlled speed, the tractor comes under strain. Particularly so when lowering the loader. The engine gradually dies by as much as 300 to 400 rpm. It's like the tractor is trying to send the full oil flow rate to the loader. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It does sound like the pressure is spiking and working against the main relief valve, instead of just dumping to tank. It's like the valve is getting full pressure but the spool isn't moving at all.

Hard to tell without seeing a hydraulic schematic, to be honest.
