    Hi

Me and some mates are looking to plan a golfing trip to Dubai. Chrap direct flights from Dublin makes it tempting. Lots of good courses there. A couple of questions.

    1. Which courses are best in Dubai? What have you played or heard etc.

    2. What is the cheapest way to book the trip ? In particular the golf. How to get cheap green fees ?

    I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Cheap green fees in the context of Dubai or Ireland? Even with the discounts that residents get you are still averaging over 100 euro a round for the courses worth playing.

I hear there are one or two decent courses you can play at night under lights

    Gentler temperatures too

Yep the Faldo course at the Emirates and Meydan. Only played the Faldo but it's good fun; but course is average enough and is also as it's the busiest course in the Emirates (been informed) so it's condition can be poor enough.

    Played most of the courses.

Definitely play the Els Club, Majlis (Emirates GC) and Earth Course (Jumeirah Golf Estate) but your looking at around 250 euro per person on a green fee peak season (before you get any discount). Most of the locals/residents can get cheaper rates but even then you are still looking around 2 for 1 on a green fee.

Also the Faldo is worth playing at night just for the novelty and location. Meydan less as it's a bit farther out.

You'll get plenty of good deals to play low season but unless you like melting in 40+ heat i'd forget it. I've done it and it is tough going; certainly you won't tog out for golf if you were on the lash the night before.
