Does the layovers seem a little short here? Even if I don't have any security checks to do?

Would I be better off with the below option? There is also a longer stay over in JFK (3 hrs something), not pictured below.

The big red flag I see there is the layover in Paris is way too short given that you need to clear security again and those queues can be a nightmare. Atlanta is doable in an hour but Paris I would say you need a minimum two hours. Having said that, JFK is a horrible airport to connect through and I would go out of my way to avoid it.

The Atlanta connection is doable. Hartsfield is one of the easiest airports to transit thru. Just get off the plane, walk to the train that goes between terminals and it will get you to your gate in a matter of minutes. It sounds more complicated & lengthy than it actually is. The Paris leg would worry me. But as long as you book the trip on one ticket, its the airlines responsibility to get you on another flight home, if you miss the first one. As it is so early in the morning, that shouldn't be a problem. I would avoid JFK like the plague.

Thanks, yeah I go from ATL all the time but they have no direct to Dublin with Delta at that time of year. I really love that airport! I have the places I like to eat there, etc. I will look again with a longer layover in Paris or another European airport.

Yeah, I used to live in Atlanta and the brilliance of the airport made getting from A to B, soooooooooo much easier. I really wouldn't stress it on the Paris end of things. de Gaulle is fine for transits. I had to go via there many a time, during the Atlanta-Dublin off season. I never had any issues, even on tight connections. The amount of time consuming walking that you have to do, is not that bad, compared to most airports of its size. They also have these wonderful uniformed hostesses, that will point you in the direction of where you need to go & what you need to do, if your sleep deprived brain can't figure it out for yourself. If you are flying Delta, I'd pick Paris any day, over Frankfurt, Amsterdam etc etc

Just fyi in case anyone else was wondering, had sent Delta an email about the flights.

'The flights you have mentioned show up as married segments. When two
flights are sold as married segments, passengers usually make the
connection flight as the arrival gate and departure gate are not too
far. If you miss your connecting flight due to a flight delay, Delta
will accommodate you on the next available flight.'
