Seriously Salty Popcorn at the cinema

Was in the IMC Tallaght on Friday night and couldn't finish the popcorn due to salt, why do they add SO much salt or is it just bought in ready over salted?? Would be interested if anyone who's ever worked there has any info.

Happened to me in Vue about 2 years ago too where I had to throw most of it away too due to over salting so not sure if it was a one off or if it's changed since the refurb.

Pity that I have to go back to the path of smuggling in my own food if the snacks they're selling there are ones most people can't finish.

Popcorn has one of the biggest profit margins in the world, they buy it by weight and then sell it by volume, not happy with that they load it up with salt and rip you off on the soft drinks

well not me, I bring my own snacks to the pictures, and if cineworld don't like it they can go and 5hite for themselves

I wrote to President Reagan when Bo and Luke Duke left the show, and the season after that they came back, so yeah, yes I would :P

Never having worked in a cinema myself, does anyone know if it's made offsite or does it really depend on the randomness of the latest teller's wrist action?

They buy it in the specials in Aldi.

Just left IMC Tallaght 1 hour ago and demolished a large box of their popcorn. I could sit in a dark room with nothing to watch for 2 hours while eating their popcorn and I'd be well happy! Delicious stuff

Have you considered that they may have been coming back anyway, and
That it had nothing to do,with your letter to Reagan?

Good, a popcorn thread. I have the seeds here at home, I've never popped them in the pan before. Do they taste any better than the microwave stuff?

I went to the local pictures (long since closed down) to see Sliver with my best friend. We were only young teenagers at the time and had purchased snickers bars and popcorn to see us through the film. I have to say, with hindsight, it wasn't really the type of film I'd watch with my best fried while eating snickers and popcorn.

    Home made are fab

Added coconut oil to olive oil and some salt .....

Cooked outdoors - even nicer - kids love them
